Located on the Paluxy River, Big Rocks Park is full of unusually large rocks. There are plenty of shallow areas for children to climb, explore and play. Families can enjoy swimming and cooling off from the Texas heat or enjoy lunch sitting underneath the trees.

Fossil Rim Wildlife Center is a 501 non-profit conservation center near Glen Rose, Texas. They specialize in the breeding of endangered species, public education, scientific research and natural land management. The facility has over 1,000 animals from 50 species.

The City Beach is located in the heart of town on Lake Granbury. The beach includes a Splash Park, kayak rentals in the summer, and picnic pavilions. The City Beach is within walking distance to the historic downtown square where there are many places to eat and shop.

Lake Granbury Marina is also home to spring and summer pontoon boat rentals, tritoon boat rentals and wet slips, for a wide range of options for your next adventure.

Ranch Access:

  • Keep the lock on the gate as you found it
  • If a gate is closed before you enter, close it after you go through the gate
  • If a gate is open before you enter, leave it open after you go through the gate
  • Park in designated parking areas
  • Stay within accessible areas
  • No pool or hot tub access
  • Leashed pets are welcome
  • No hunting or shooting
  • Catch and release fishing only
  • Open fires prohibited

Pro-Tips:

  • Wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather
  • Wear closed-toe shoes
  • Bring sunscreen and bug spray
  • Bring non-alcoholic beverages and snacks

Be Mindful:

  • Livestock behavior is unpredictable.
  • Wildlife is abundant and this is their home.
  • Flora and fauna – some species need to be avoided
  • Water features – ponds, streams, rivers, and creeks
  • No swimming in ponds
  • Wear life vests near water features is strongly recommended
  • Land features – cliffs, limestone bluffs, canyons, and valleys
  • Honor our policy of No Trace Left Behind

When Arriving at Ranch:

  • Press the call button at the front gate
  • Pass through the gate and make an immediate right
  • Go past Black Star Barn and park in the parking lot
  • Secure your personal valuables and vehicle
  • Check-in with ranch staff at the Adventure Barn
  • Photo ID and credit card are required for check-in
  • All parties must have signed Ranch Waiver on file
  • Wristbands must be worn at all times
